Cappies:

The 'Cappies' is a high school  theatre and journalism progrm in which students train to become critics, watch and analyze other school's shows, and are able to be published in local newspapers.  Our Cappies winners were nominated and voted by the Cappies critics at the end of the year, and received the awards in a huge Tonys-style gala.

Florida State Competition Ratings:

 From April 28th to May 4th, 30 students went up to Tampa to compete in the Florida Thespian State Conference.  We brought two solos, one large group musical, an ensemble acting piece, one contrasting monologue piece, two playwrights, and our one act, All The Great Books Abridged (Abridged).  All of our individual events had received a superior rating at Districts, and our one act was selected as one of three to represent our district at the state festival.

The District 7 Individual Event Competition was held on December 8th, 2007 at Coral Springs High School.  JPT had 48 students competing in 35 events.  We earned 15 Superior ratings, 13 excellents, 1 play selected for the State Playwrighting Workshop, 1 critics choice for best performance of the day and Raye Lederman won the District 7 Thespian Scholarship.
