Lori Sessions
Lori Sessions (Director/Choreographer) is in her 15th year teaching at her alma mater, JP Taravella
and was awarded Broward County’s Arts Teacher of the Year in 2005 and JP Taravella's Teacher of the Year in 2004.
Ms. Sessions, a National Board Certified Teacher, holds a BA in Theatre and a MS in Education from Florida State University.
She has directed numerous shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, All My Sons, A Funny
Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Brighton Beach Memoirs and Romeo and Juliet. Her productions of Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast and On the Town were selected
for mainstage performance at the Florida State Thespian Festival and her production of Singin'
in the Rain won the South Florida Cappie Award in 2003. In addition to teaching and directing, Ms. Sessions has performed
professionally in such productions as Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Forum (Philia), Crazy For You (Tess), Something’s
Afoot (Hope) and Dames at Sea (Ruby) and performed in a tour in Japan. Ms.
Sessions founded the South Florida Cappies in 2001 and serves as the program director. By far her favorite role is Mom to
seven year old Kimberly.
