So, why should I join drama club?
|
 |
|
Where to begin! Whether you want to pursue theatre as a career or not, there are still
many, MANY advantages for joining Drama Club! As a drama student, you learn responsibility, time management, cooperation, life skills, perseverance, and gain self-confidence,
whether through performing or honing your technical skills. You learn to appreciate all the different aspects of putting
on a full-scale production, as well as the value of hard work. As a performer, you are able to learn how to audition properly, act- whether through
being a part of our plays and musicals, or competing at Districts-, improv, work with fellow actors and technicians, find
material, sing in an ensemble, learn a few dance moves, and earn tips for making it in college and the professional world.

We have many opportunities for actors to audition and perform. Our shows to audition for include the Dinner
Theatre, Straight Play, Musical, Musical Revue, and one act which we take to One Act Competition each January. In order
to be in the musical and musical revue, you must first audition and make AMT (American Musical Theatre), but there are still
a variety of other ways to get involved even if you don't make it! (see below).
